Hillrose Pet Resort will accept your application even if there are no openings for consideration at the time and will hold it for one year. Availability is a significant consideration so please make sure that the third page properly documents the times and days that you may be unavailable and the reasons for these periods. Please feel free to update your availability should it change if you want to continue to be considered for employment.
Please be aware that work at Hillrose Pet Resort is seasonal.

• Full Time means 26-56 hours/week depending on the season
• Part Time means 4-28 hours/week depending on the season

Opportunities at Hillrose


Playtimer

Part Time Position

Playtimer Job Purpose: Cares for customers pets while they are boarding by exercising them, playing with them and providing the human interaction that they would normally have with their human owners.

Playtimer Job Duties:

• Handles all kind of pets during their stay at the Pet Resort according to procedure for the time and duration as scheduled each day as requested by the pet owners.
• Checks animals for health conditions that may be new and alerts senior staff members when there may be a problem
• Checks and documents the weight of pets during their stay to confirm that the pets do not have any hidden health problems
• Clean dogs that become wet or soiled during playtimes
• Clean exercise yard
• Contributes to team effort by backing up their fellow workers even when not scheduled and accomplishing related tasks as needed even when not their primary duties when requested by management.

Skills/Qualifications: At least successful completion of Middle School, Animal Knowledge and Handling Skills, Organization, Time Management and Listening.

Bather

Part Time Position

Bather Job Purpose: Provides bathing services for dogs and cats when requested by customers or when scheduled by management.

Bather Job Duties:

• All the duties of a Playtimer
• Follow grooming room and safety procedures for handling pets
• Brush out all mats and tangles prior to bathing dogs and cats
• Wash and shampoo dogs and cats
• Trim feet, nails, ears; clean eyes and ears.
• Express anal glands
• Clean teeth
• Dry and brush out
• Clean grooming room and equipment according to procedure
• Contributes to team effort by backing up their fellow workers even when not scheduled and accomplishing related tasks as needed even when not their primary duties when requested by management.

Skills/Qualifications: At least High School Graduate, Animal Knowledge and Handling Skills, Organization, Time Management, Listening, Janitorial Skills

Advertising Assistant

Part Time Position

Advertising Assistant Job Purpose: Contacts customers and other vendors to promote the business of The Pet Resort to both attract new customers and retain existing customers.

Advertising Assistant Job Duties:

• Visits customers and vendors throughout the local vicinity
• Communicates the uniqueness and quality of our services and facility
• Maintains our social media presence.
• Prepares and distributes advertising literature and information.
• Comfortably makes presentations to groups of people in a professional manner.
• Drives safely in a timely manner to make customer and vendor contacts.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions.

Kennel Worker

Full Time Position

Kennel Worker Job Purpose: Maintain the health of all animals visiting The Pet Resort and maintain a resort quality facility that is “Sparkling Clean and Smell Free”.

Kennel Worker Job Duties:

• All the duties of a Playtimer.
• Safely handles all kind of pets during the boarding including dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, etc.
• Feed and medicate all animals on a timely basis according to procedure.
• Clean all pet enclosures and boarding areas on a timely basis according to procedure.
• Maintain records according to checklists and procedure.
• Provides bathing services for animals that become soiled because the facility was not clean.
• Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook and restricting non-employee access whether the business is open or not.
• Maintains safe and clean non-reception areas by complying with procedures, checklists, rules, and regulations.
• Maintenance and repair of the facilities whenever a professional is not needed by laws or regulations
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Contributes to team effort by backing up their fellow workers even when not scheduled and accomplishing related tasks as needed even when not their primary duties.

Receptionist

Full or Part Time Position

Receptionist Job Purpose: Serves visitors and their pets by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; brings pets into and out of the facility: notifies company personnel of other visitor arrivals; maintains security and telecommunications system.

Receptionist Job Duties:

• Welcomes visitors and their pets by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
• Handles all kind of pets during the check-in and check-out procedure
• Screens animals for health conditions
• Handles all customer financial transactions including end of the day bookkeeping.
• Handles customer complaints including feedback to both customers and management on all issues.
• Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook and restricting non-employee access.
• Maintains reservation/client database and answers emails.
• Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, checklists, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Contributes to team effort by backing up their fellow workers even when not scheduled and accomplishing related tasks as needed even when not their primary duties.
