Concerned about Canine Cough? Try our Pet Sitting Services
Canine Cough, often called Kennel Cough, is similar to the common cold for humans. Dog can pick up Kennel Cough, just like a child can pick up the common cold at school. There is no way to fully prevent either illness, but there are steps we can take to minimize the risk.
Canine Cough a problem that no dog boarding facility can solve. It is an air born virus that may have no symptoms at check-in. The bordetella vaccination provides a 90% probability that your dog(s) are protected but there is a 10% probability that one of the other Canine Cough viruses will attack your dog(s). We minimize this by huge roof mount fans that dilute the air that may contain these viruses. No amount of cleaning can eliminate this disease.
If your dog is hacking away or constantly making noises that make it sound like he’s choking on something, he may have a case of canine cough. Although it can sound terrible, most of the time it is not a serious condition, and most dogs will recover without treatment. However, it is best to visit your vet for a proper diagnosis and to confirm if any treatment is needed.
While contracting canine cough happens infrequently, it does happen when dogs are together in a confined location. If you are concerned about canine cough, we do have a new solution to guarantee your dog(s) will not get canine cough. It is called “Pet Sitting”.
